Terms
Last updated October 18, 2026
These terms are between you and Puru Kumar, who makes Bolo (“we”). By installing or using Bolo you agree to them. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer laws where you live.
Using Bolo
- You may install and use Bolo on Macs you own or control, for personal or work use.
- Don't resell, redistribute or modify Bolo, or try to get around how it's licensed.
- Bolo includes software and models by others, under their own licences, listed in Settings → About → Acknowledgements.
Price
The first 1,000 copies are free. After that, Bolo is a one-time purchase; the price is shown before you buy. No subscription.
Your AI provider
AI features use a key you add from a provider you choose. Your use of that provider is between you and them: their terms, their prices, their limits and what they do with what you send apply. Some providers' free tiers aren't available everywhere; for example, Google requires a paid key in the EU, UK and Switzerland.
Recording others
Bolo listens only when you start it. If you use it near other people, or on calls, follow the laws where you are about recording and consent.
Updates
Bolo checks for updates once a day and asks before installing. Only updates signed by us are accepted. You can turn the check off in Settings → About.
No warranty
Bolo is provided “as is”. Speech recognition and AI make mistakes, so check what Bolo types before you rely on it, especially numbers, names and anything you send. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Bolo.
Privacy
How Bolo and this site handle information is in the privacy policy.
